Vault Strategies
To protect investors, this feature prevents the vault manager from changing the investment strategy without investor approval. For instance, if the manager initially commits to a low-risk approach like swapping and yield farming, they cannot shift to high-risk perpetual trading without consent. Strategy changes require investor expectations, ensuring investors maintain control over their risk exposure.
The Stratum Protocol supports three distinct vault types currently, each tailored to specific strategies in DeFi. These vault types,

Yield Farming Vault

...share the ability to swap assets but differ in their additional allowed activities, restricted activities, and asset restrictions.
Below, each vault type is outlined with its specific characteristics.
Perpetual Trading Vault
Perp Trading Vaults are designed for trading perpetual contracts, a type of derivative that allows speculation with leverages on asset prices.
Allowed Activities:
Swapping assets (e.g., exchanging one ERC20 token for another)
Trading perpetual contracts on supported platforms
Restricted Activities:
Participating in yield farming
Trading on meme trading platforms
Asset Restrictions:
Limited to ERC20 assets; memecoins are explicitly prohibited
For example, a manager can swap USDC for ETH or trade perpetual contracts, but any attempt to farm yields or trade memecoins will be blocked.
Yield Farming Vault
Yield Farming Vaults focus on maximizing returns through yield farming strategies, typically by providing liquidity to DeFi protocols.
Allowed Activities:
Swapping assets (e.g., exchanging tokens to position for farming)
Participating in yield farming protocols
Restricted Activities:
Participating in perpetual trading
Trading on meme trading platforms
Asset Restrictions:
Limited to assets compatible with yield farming protocols (e.g., tokens used in liquidity pools)
Managers can swap tokens and stake them in yield farming protocols to earn rewards, but trading perpetual contracts or engaging with meme platforms is restricted.
Meme Trading Vault
Meme Trading Vaults cater to trading meme coins and newly launch tokens, which are often highly volatile and influenced by social media trends.
Allowed Activities:
Swapping assets (e.g., exchanging one token for another)
Trading memecoins and newly launch tokens
Interacting with meme trading platforms (e.g., DEXs listing meme tokens)
Restricted Activities:
Participating in perpetual trading
Participating in yield farming
Asset Restrictions:
Restricted to memecoins and other specified assets approved for meme trading
A manager can trade popular memecoins or swap tokens on supported platforms, but perpetual trading or yield farming activities are not permitted.
